about

In the next world, it’s difficult to believe in miracles. But Burd Bibendaze is one of those tireless optimists who are probing our planet in search of the impossible: proof that our alien companions once came from the sky. At a time when political tensions between Humans and Outworlders are growing as the debate over their right to the Earth in- tensifies, some of the oozing activists inhabiting the globe claim to trace their origins within the depths of our planet. A specialist in impactology, Burd has already witnessed the organic nature of near-Earth celestial bodies on more than one occasion and is determined to put an end to unfounded rumours. Many of these infamous creatures love conspiracy material and will do anything to cover us in slime once and for all...

We caught up with the Salt Lake City expert at the start of this boreal summer, and it was with undisguised relief that he told us about a recent enlightenment: «After a brief period of acid rain and the return of fine weather to the Romandie desert, I set out to find a polluted water source to carry out some routine analyses. As I walked along the former whitewater crater, a movement caught my eye below. Sheltered behind a piece of rock, I focused my implant on the bottom of the arid cavity. As I tried to identify the shape of the individual, my consciousness felt as if it had gelled, a second passed that seemed eternal, and then I recognised Brian The Rough One.” Observing the emotion with which Bibendaze tells us his story, we suspect that this reunion has led him forward in his investigation, but we don’t yet understand the link...

(Editor): "What was your first instinct when you stared at The Rough One? And how did this interaction guide you in your investigation?"
(Bibendaze): "I was struck by a revealing flashback: I saw myself back in 3030 during my first altercation with Brian. We had nothing in common at the time, but since then our paths have continued to intertwine, always in adversity. This time everything was clear: to definitively establish the cosmological origin of this viscous creature, I was going to have to make the slug talk... While constraint seemed an idea destined to fail with the dangerous Ultracephalous leader, I convinced myself that a strategy had to be put in place to trap him. For obvious reasons, I can’t give you the details of this operation, but you understand that for the moment this information must only circulate in encryp- ted conversations and via the Medusanet. At this stage, I’d prefer us to talk about collaboration and some form of agreement with the League, the situation is tense enough as it is..."

We were unable to extract any further information from the infamous impactologist, who has been hiding under a false identity since our interview. We are now forced to imagine the repercussions of these insane revelations to the media.
